Is secular humanism a religion?

Humanists believe that the universe is self-existing, was not created, if you will.  They believe that man, as a part of nature, has emerged as a result of a continuous process of natural material causes.  Secular humanists believe that nature is all that exists, that there is no God, no spiritual dimension, and no afterlife.  In short, they believe that man evolved from molecules by natural processes, and no supernatural activity is allowed to be considered.

Secular humanists do not believe that an absolute moral code exists.  Instead, they believe that man makes up his own rules.

Also, secular humanists do not want to be called religious.  That is because they do not want to admit that teaching materialistic evolution requires a religious point of view, a view that tries to explain life without God.  If they did, it would be admitting that when public schools in America threw God out of the science classroom, they did not throw out religion.  They just replaced God with an atheistic religion.

Sadly, many church leaders do not realize that when they support eliminating God from science classes, they are supporting an anti-God religion; the religion of atheistic humanism.

the fossil clock... How old can it be?

Because of the intense evolutionary indoctrination that we have all received, most people assume that it takes millions of years for sediment, like sand or mud, to harden into rock.  But given the right ingredients, this can actually happen quickly.  A good example of this is the mixing and pouring cement.

We show a the picture of the mechanism of a clock encased in solid rock, along with sea shells in our seminar.  Of course, no one believes this clock was made millions of years ago.  The clock was found in 1975 near a jetty at Westport, Washington.  There have been many shipwrecks in this area.

So obviously, the right mix of sand and other substances hardened around this clock, making it look like a clock in hard rock!

There is really nothing spectacular about this find.  These sorts of things happen all the time in different parts of the world.  But, usually, the average person does not hear about them, and as a result they go on thinking that rocks and fossils must take millions of years to form.

How does molecules-to-man evolution have an information problem?

Information is the real heart of the problem for people who believe that life could have arisen by random, natural processes.  All life is built up on the basis of information.  This information is contained in our DNA, that is the molecule of heredity.  It’s like a series of individual letters, and a code to read them.

A good comparison would be Morse code.  If you understand the code with dots and dashes representing letters of the alphabet, you can read something that is put in Morse code.

If evolution was true, then the very first organism had to have information in the form of letters and a code.  Evolutionists say that as organisms evolved, new information had to be continually added.  In other words, millions of times over millions of years, new information would have to be generated by random, chance processes and added to the genetic system.

Now here is the evolutionary problem.  No one has ever documented even just one instance of new information arising from matter by itself.  All observations in science show clearly that information only comes from previously existing information, and ultimately from an intelligence.  And this fits with creation, not evolution.

Evolutionist Quote of the Month

“It cannot be accidental, one is tempted to conclude, that the percentage of salt in our bloodstreams is roughly the same as the percentage of salt in the oceans of the world.  The long and intricate process by which evolution helped to shape the complex interrelationship of all living and nonliving things may be explicable in purely scientific terms, but the simple fact of the living world and our place on it evokes awe, wonder, a sense of mystery—a spiritual response when one reflects on its deeper meaning.”

– Al Gore, Earth in the Balance, p. 264.
