Since fish were not taken aboard the Ark, how did they survive the catastrophic events of Noah’s Flood? Well, most fish did not survive such a cataclysm. If you could have been diving in the oceans before the Flood, and then again after the Flood, you probably would have said something like, “What happened? Where has everything gone?” That is because most marine species were killed during the Flood. However, there still were lots of fish that did not become extinct, because we see their descendents in the oceans today. This leads to a related question, “How did freshwater fish survive in the saltwater oceans?” There are a number of possibilities. First, there are many areas in the world today where we see freshwater and saltwater together, but the two waters are not mixed. So it is possible that certain organisms could have survived in pockets of fresh or saltwater.
Secondly, because of natural selection, today’s organisms
have become very specialized. Yet,
even despite this specialization, many of today’s species of fish are
able to adjust to both freshwater and saltwater. This
suggests that the ability to tolerate large changes in salinity was
present in many fish at the time of the Flood. |

how has evolution become part of entertainment? Evolution has become very ingrained in our culture over the years, especially when it comes to movies and television. Evolutionary ideas, such as millions of years and the big bang, are no stranger to Hollywood. These ideas are snuck into cartoons, comics, and movies quite frequently. Perhaps evolutionists think, “Make it funny and cute, and show it enough times, and maybe they’ll accept evolution as fact.” Hollywood does not spend hundreds of millions of dollars just to entertain you. Many producers want you to adopt their secular worldview that says there is no God, and that man sets his own rules. They know that a belief in evolution, and millions of years, is a powerful way to get people to doubt the Word of God. By staying attuned to programs we see, we ca develop a biblical radar to spot lies about God’s creation. Whether it’s Bugs Bunny, Gilligan’s Island, Spiderman, Batman, SpongeBob, or Star Wars, evolutionary ideas are there. Sometimes it is subtle, but still effective in indoctrination. See how good your biblical radar is the next time you watch any of these programs or movies. Play a game called “spot the evolutionary content.” This can be a teaching tool to instruct your family to discern opposing worldviews. |

Is
the
bible wrong about snakes Although we do not know for sure that the serpent referred to in Genesis 1 really was the same as a snake, we do know that snakes do eat dust! After the serpent deceived Eve, God cursed it, saying, “On your belly you shall go and you shall eat dust all the days of your life.” And since most people do not realize that many snakes eat dust, they use this as a reason not to take Genesis literally. You may find this interesting. A snake has an organ in the roof of its mouth called “Jacobson’s organ” that helps the snake smell. Here’s how it works; with its darting, forked tongue, the snake picks up bits of dust and pulls them into its mouth. Once the dust is inside the mouth, a pair of sensory organs takes over and the snake is able to smell the trail for possible prey. The point being, that no matter what the serpent was, nothing contradicts the Bible’s clear statements in Genesis. |
