Is there any evidence that fossils have formed quickly?

Evolutionists teach that the stratified fossil record of dinosaurs and other creatures formed slowly over millions of years. As a result, most people have the idea that it takes millions of years to turn bones into fossils as well.

But creation scientists believe that most of the fossils, including most of the dinosaur fossils, formed at the time of Noah’s Flood, only about 4,500 years ago. This means that fossils must have formed rather quickly.

So, is there any evidence that fits with this view?

Well, a museum in New Zealand showcases a petrified ham, which formed after a volcano covered a village in ash. There is also a museum in Tasmania that features a petrified hat. It was left in a mine, and after fifty years it had changed from being a soft, felt hat into a hard hat! (See ‘Fossil’ hat.) Over that time the chemicals in the water precipitated within the open structure of the felt material of the soft hat, thus turning the soft hat into stone by a process called calcification, which means that solid calcium carbonate has impregnated the original felt material of the hat.

No, it doesn’t take millions of years to make fossils.

Can we know, then, when the fossil record was formed? The answer’s in the Book of Genesis. Most of the fossils were formed during the Flood of Noah’s day, just a few thousand years ago.

Neptune’s origin can’t be explained by evolution, but is it “proof” of creation?

Neptune is an amazing planet that cannot be explained by long ages of time. Now this by itself does not 'prove' creation.

Astronomers were amazed to discover that Neptune is very active, even though it is so far from the sun. Winds reach 1,300 mph, and the planet actually generates heat!

This easily fits the creation model, because a young planet could still be cooling off. But it doesn’t fit with a belief in millions or billions of years, because it should have cooled off by now. Especially since it is so far from the sun.

Evolutionists keep looking for some bizarre scenario to explain Neptune. Even if they are ever to come up with a 'good story', it still doesn’t make the story true.

And that is the problem. While we can look at the present and make guesses about the past, we cannot prove the past. Instead, we need a reliable eyewitness.

Is there a witness somewhere who can come to our aid?

Yes, there is such an witness... God Himself! What better 'proof' could there be than the character and testimony of the Lord Himself? But many astronomers prefer to keep putting their faith in themselves, instead of putting their faith in God and His Word.

What is “incomplete” metamorphosis and how does it relate to evolution?

When a caterpillar changes into a butterfly, its' internal organs dissolve and are re-formed as the butterfly emerges in a process called metamorphosis. The instructions for this process are 'programmed' into the caterpillar's DNA.

There is another type of metamorphosis, which biology textbooks label “incomplete”: a nymph changing into a grasshopper. It sheds its' skin several times, which we call 'molting'.

But it is wrong to say this is “incomplete” metamorphosis, because the change is complete. The grasshopper becomes an adult the way its' DNA has been programmed to do.

So why do evolutionary biologists call it “incomplete"? It is because they assume that the grasshopper and the butterfly are related through evolution!

In other words, the term exists simply because of a prior belief in evolution. Just because two insects have similarities, evolutionists jump to the conclusion that they must have a common ancestry.

However, the Bible tells us that these insects were created to reproduce after their kind, from the beginning, according to God’s perfect design. So there’s no such thing as 'incomplete' metamorphosis.

Is recognizing design enough?

You might be asking, “Enough for what?” The Intelligent Design movement teaches that design in nature points to a designer, but it does not name the intelligent designer, and intelligent design is not compatible with millions of years and evolution. So is belief in intelligent design enough to be saved?

Intelligent design may seem very appealing at first because it brings up some good arguments against the idea that life arose by natural processes. But unfortunately, the ID movement has little, or nothing, to do with the Bible.

Believing in design alone does not tell us why there is death and suffering in the world, or that we all need to be saved. It is only through God’s Word that we can understand the bad news that the sin of Adam brought... death, and the good news that Christ Jesus, our Redeemer, brought... eternal life with Him.

While Romans 1 tells us that we can know there is a God, through His creation. This is an important first step To understand who God is, to know His nature, and what life is all about, we need to believe and understand God’s Word.
